Jazz bassist, bandleader and composer Charles "The Broski"Fambrough (August 25, 1950 - January 1, 2011)  passed away. He was 60.

Fambrough was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Over the course of four decades, he played and recorded with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Grover Washington's Jr.'s band, McCoy Tyner, Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland, Steve Turre, Kenny Garrett, Donald Harrison, Abdullah Ibrahim, Sean Jones, Lenny White, Joe Ford, Bill O'Connell, Freddy Hubbard, Jerry Gonzalez, Jeff Watts, Billie Drummond, Doc Gibbs, Bashiri Johnson, and Stanley Turrentine.
